1 down...11 to go!!

I just love ART!!
~~~
Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs)
are miniature works of art about the same size
as modern baseball card or 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches.
Small enough to fit inside standard
card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.
The ATC movement developed out of the mail art
movement and has its origins in Switzerland.
Cards are produced in various media,
including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.),
wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.),
paper media (in the form of collage,
papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth.
The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold
Altered playing cards (or APC's)
are 2.5inX3.5in works of art
that are developed from
simple plain boring playing cards.
Traditionally APC's have the suit
and number (at least one) still visable
somewhere on the card.
Make Love....Not War!!
#8 of 365
Make Love...Not War!!!
~~~
This is an ACEO
that I made for a swap on
ATC's For All
called "Peace Out II".

I used a tie-dyed looking background,
I used arylic paint & a gel medium
for the peace sign.
I added wording with gel pens
and added paint here and there!!

I love the way it turned out
in person the color just pops out!!
~~~
ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals."
ACEOs are small, collectible pieces of art,
always 2.5" x 3.5",
the same size as sports trading cards.
They can be rendered in any medium or style.
Some of my ACEOs are originals,
but I often also sell prints
(called "editions," numbered and signed)
ACEOs are based on ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)
which, by definition, are only traded, never sold.
When the worldwide general public
(including non-artists)
became interested in owning and
collecting these mini artworks,
the ACEO acronym was created on eBay
to distinguish them from ATCs
and to provide a venue for artists to sell these small,
highly affordable and collectible artworks.
